13.04.2022 “No, I do want to say what my approach is, my approach in this context is to Shrink the conflict. We will not resolve it... but wherever it is possible to have entries, more quality of life, more business, more industry, we will [encourage it – O.E]” said Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett in an interview with Amit Segal on the local Channel 12 News on the eve of his inauguration in June 2021. This was a short, casual statement—an aside in an interview that dealt with many other issues on the agenda. Thus, Bennett tried to differentiate himself from “managing the conflict” — the approach of his predecessor, Benjamin Netanyahu — by offering a fresh, new approach.

Jewish, or Democratic? The True Aim of Israel’s ‘Nation-State’ Law
The public outrage regarding the recently ratified "Nation-State" Law has focused mainly on its various clauses and the discrimination against Israel's ethnic minorities therein. However, one must inspect the true meaning behind the Nation-State Law and the motivation of its authors.

A right-wing hoax
The land-grab law is yet another right-wing attempt to use legislature to prolong the legal limbo of occupation. Israel has two options: annex and naturalize 2.7 million Palestinians in the West Bank, or reach an agreement with the Palestinians. Any other plan is public deception.

UNSC resolution: World placing price tag on settlements
The UN Security Council’s resolution is a direct response to right-wing policies in the Occupied Territories, which have placed Israel on a collision course with the world. We need responsible leaders who understand that the military occupation and settlements cannot continue without repercussions.

The Israeli Right has all the Power - but no Endgame
With Israel led by the most right-wing government in its history and a weak, fragmented opposition, the right is virtually free to carry out its program. So why is its decades-long vision of annexing the West Bank not really on the table?

Arab-Palestinian politics in Israel harming promising young leaders
The uproar in Arab-Palestinian political circles in Israel over Ayman Odeh’s visit in the US has exposed the weakness and stagnation of these political frameworks. The “stand-tall generation” seems to be too used to the low glass ceilings in Israel and in the Occupied Territories

Radicalization of Arab Knesset members: a civic rift
Public statements by Arab members of the Israeli parliament have grown more extreme over the last twenty years. This radicalization has primarily been driven by the events of October 2000, the failure of the peace process, and growing nationalism in Jewish-Israeli society. Dr. Orna Cohen analyzes the growing rift between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel, as reflected in parliamentary debate.

Case study: Divestment by Norwegian giant KLP
The right and left wings in Israel are both presenting a misleading picture of the political and economic challenges Israel is facing internationally. A case in point is the divestment by Norwegian insurance company KLP from companies operating in the West Bank. Instead of sensationalist headlines, we analyze the real challenges this case illustrates.

The proposed Basic Law is not only invalid because it is injurious to non-Jewish people, but also because it takes aim at Jewish people and Jewish heritage itself, turning that heritage into a political tool in the hands of a single Jewish group
